Room To Heal, Room To Dream:

About the Powerhouse Transformation Center

We offer women and their children the opportunity to leave addiction and homelessness behind forever and embark on a faith-filled journey to wholeness and strength — to a new life.

We're Expanding

Stepping out of addiction, abuse, and the cycle of poverty takes courage. Learning to live a new life of freedom requires intensive healing and a strong system of long-term support. Our commitment to seeing lives that are fully restored requires a tremendous amount of time, dedication, and money. But what we are doing is working.

91% of the women who graduate our program never return to a lifestyle of addiction and abuse. Our residents aren’t just healing from the wounds of their past; they are breaking deadly and destructive cycles. Instead of inheriting trauma, pain, and addiction, their children will step into a future that is full of hope.

This year we are doubling our capacity. Our current building has served us well but is now aged and no longer adequate. We currently have the capacity for 20 women and children at a time, which means that we are faced with a never-ending waiting list. A new and larger facility is critically important so that we can create the opportunity for more women to step into a fully healed and restored life and to better provide for counseling, childcare, and classes.

We need your support. Through our generous partners, half of our 3.2 million dollar building campaign already has financial commitment. We invite YOU to become a part of the legacy of Powerhouse through giving to our building project.

Their future depends on it. Your generosity makes it possible for women to step out of destruction into destiny. Together, we will rewrite stories of generational addiction, abuse, and poverty. These children will not have to suffer through their parent’s painful choices, and won’t ever have

Why It Matters

The impact of one woman’s transformation is far-reaching. Most of our residents are mothers. Before entering the program, nearly all these women have suffered abuse, and most had parents who struggled with addiction.

The life-destroying cycle of addiction is broken by walking with women as they rediscover strength and dignity. Studies show that children from families with substance abuse problems are more likely to have serious emotional and behavioral problems, and are very likely to follow in their parents’ footsteps unless something changes.

Children of addicts have an 8x greater chance of having an addiction.

At PTC, we strive to break the cycle of these life-destroying forces and choices. The children of PTC benefit from excellent care, counseling and community, giving them the hope of a much brighter future.

Powerhouse Transition Center offers hope to these women and their children!
“At PTC I’ve been healed of my addiction, but it is so much more than a ‘program’ – it’s like a family. I’ve gone through breast cancer treatment while here and being surrounded by people who are so committed to me all the time is amazing. I’m so thankful to God and to Powerhouse.”

What We Do

The Powerhouse Transformation Center is one of the few no-cost residential recovery programs in Northern California. The center addresses all aspects of a woman’s life within a safe, caring community. We know for life transformation there are no quick fixes. The program is tailored to each woman’s personal development needs, dreams and life goals, and consists of five phases.
  • Purposeful Case Management

Our purposeful case management ensures that goals are met, providing the best chance of long-term success.
  • Authentic Community

Authentic community begins with a physically and relationally safe environment and loving, involved staff. Residents build encouraging relationships with one another and find support through involvement with volunteers, area churches and from the wider Powerhouse community.
  • Individual and Group Counseling

Our effective counseling programs help residents abandon addictive patterns and address core life issues.
  • Practical Life Skills Classes & Training

This includes such diverse programming as anger management, Zumba and budgeting.
