Title: Student Ministries & Young Adults Pastor

Reports to: 
Co-Executive Director

Compensation: Full-Time or Part Time
Pay Range: $28-$33 per hour, potential for salary pay structure

Mission Statement: 
The Student Ministries & Young Adults Pastor is responsible for growing and leading a passionate student movement with an emphasis on students in crisis. This ministry seeks to raise a generation of warriors equipped to break cycles of addiction, abuse, and poverty, bringing hope and healing to our city.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Leadership & Team Building
    • Develop and lead a vibrant Student Ministries Team of staff, interns, and volunteers who are passionate about leading youth into an encounter with God.
    • Set measurable goals for ministry impact and create a culture of accountability and growth.
    • Conduct regular team meetings, providing vision, encouragement, and practical equipping.
  2. Outreach & Crisis Engagement
    • Build partnerships with local schools, foster care programs, and other community organizations to create pathways for reaching students, especially those in crisis.
    • Build and mobilize teams of volunteers, staff, and interns to connect with students in surrounding schools and beyond.
    • Champion initiatives that focus on connecting with unchurched and underserved youth in the Folsom area and surrounding communities.
  3. Wednesday Night Youth Service
    • Lead a dynamic weekly student service designed to reach unchurched students.
    • Develop relationships with students, providing pastoral care, mentoring, and guidance as they navigate life’s challenges.
    • Develop a Student Leadership Team to encourage peer mentorship and growth.
    • Plan and execute special monthly events and bi-annual retreats designed to build community and deepen faith.
  4. Community Integration
    • Serve as a bridge for students and their families to connect with the broader Powerhouse Ministries Community.
    • Encourage students to actively participate in Sunday services and other church-wide events.

Qualifications

Education: Bachelor Degree Prefered
Experience: Demonstrated experience in leading student ministries, with a focus on outreach to at-risk youth or crisis engagement.
Skills:
    • Compassionate and relational, with the ability to meet students where they are.
    • Proven leadership in managing teams, planning events, and developing programs that make a measurable impact.
    • Strong organizational and communication skills, including social media and digital platforms.
