REPORTS TO: Residential Director
JOB OBJECTIVE:
- Care for all residents of Powerhouse Ministries Transformation Center by providing individualized progress planning.
- Work as part of a care team in coordination with the residential director and staff.
- Ensure the ongoing formation of new “in Christ” identities within our residents.
REPONSIBILITIES: General
- Uphold grace-filled, high-accountability environment in all interactions between staff, residents and volunteers
- Ensure the safety and security of the residential sites, residents and volunteers.
- Adhere to Powerhouse Residential policies and schedules.
- Complete and maintain reports and records as required.
Residential and Administrative
- Meet weekly with assigned residents.
- Take part in tracking objective progress and gauging subjective and anecdotal progress of residents.
- Oversee the orientation process of all residents including procuring all necessary medical and legal paperwork.
- Work with the director and the team in determining residential progress and charting a way forward for each resident.
- Help residents discover their unique personality and giftings through formal and informal assessments and then implement these findings in setting goals with the residents for their own growth.
- Oversee passes and visitor requests for the residents, including helping the resident determine what are healthy forms of recreation and relationships.
- Lead and empower key volunteers engaging with residents as part of the strategy team.
- Cooperate pro-actively with other service agencies and therapeutic providers.
- Participate in the candidate interview process and accountability meetings as needed or on a rotating basis.
- Maintain clear client-tracking records.
- Communicate clearly and consistently with other staff members about new developments with residents.
Ministry Support (occasional)
- Participate in the candidate interview process and accountability meetings as needed or on a rotating basis.
- Leading classes or groups as needed.
- Participation in “on-call” rotation.
- Engage in effective team communication across the organization.
- Occasional support in transporting residents.
JOB SPECIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS:
- Experience with the Genesis Process for Relapse Prevention preferred.
- Willingness to be vulnerable and self-aware.
- Teachable and willing to grow.
- A professed faith in the Lord Jesus Christ as personal savior and commitment to serve Him.
- Agree with the “Statement of Faith” for Powerhouse Ministries.
- Ability to create and maintain systems, as well as adapt and respond to a fast-paced, sometimes stressful environment.
- Basic computer proficiency a must, with experience with word-processing, databases and collaborative productivity software a plus.
- Experience working with homeless or at-risk populations preferred.
